Wedding Inspiration:: Lace

Sometimes we stumble upon a photo that makes us fall in love with someone else's wedding. You know the type, it makes you happy, you love the lighting, the composition, and you just love. that. photo.

Typically I save these photos for Fashion Friday but I was a little excited and I wanted to post it today. So Fashion Thursday?? What initially drew me in was the lace on her veil. It was intricate and absolutely stunning with the scalloped edge. Just long enough to not be obtrusive. And looked amazing with that dress!

I found this photo on the blog Bella in Berlin and just had to share it. There's something special about a slow shutter speed that really captures the emotion of a wedding day! The pure joy and sincere affection are seen in a mere moment, but the small piece of extra time allows for movement in a single frame. Okay…that may not be exactly what is going on here but I have to say, this photo by Tessa Barton is pure LOVE!

Here Comes the Flower Girl

There are some things we like, and some things we love, and we love flower girls! Ring bearers are adorable, and we love them too, but today we're focusing on the flower girls. How can you not want to show off this beautiful moment from E & S's Castle Hill wedding of one of their flower girls dancing around the lawn with a bridesmaid's bouquet. This was a heartfelt wedding and we just melted every time the flower girls were around :) Thanks for capturing the moment SNAP!

Over the last wedding season, we saw a LOT of big, gorgeous, tulle dresses for the flower girls, but there were some flower girls that were in dresses of a different nature. Here are some of our favorites!

How adorable is this custom beaded top dress?! The small pleats are just perfect on this little girl :)

For the bohemian bride, we just adore this maxi dress with crocheted sleeves, photography courtesy of Anna Kidman

Simple and stunning in this beautiful blush satin dress. Perfectly whimsical and fun for those little flower girls

I know this is a tulle dress, but the deep navy color is not one we see often. The wide strap with bow accept make it look chic without being over done

How cute is this lace on this dress found on Etsy?! It's a little more sophisticated but the large flowers keep it playful

Long sleeves are not typical but look how great they look on this all lace dress with oversized satin bow HEART!

Fashion Friday:: Wedding Day

Happy Friday! After this horrible cold snap, it's nice to see the sun shining on a Friday morning and the promise of a little bit warmer weather before the snow starts falling. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is New England, and that means the weather can change at any moment. But for now, we are going to blissfully enjoy our sunny Friday and pretend like we are still at Engage!14 in the Cayman Islands :)

So let's dive right in to Fashion Friday and get our fill of gorgeous wedding day fashion inspiration…

Vera Wang always has stunning designs, yes, even for men. Tuxs are not all the same! Just look as this gray number from her Black collection with lapel detail.

To go with the modern gray suit, we also chose an illusion back, lace wedding gown by Berta Bridal. Stunning!

Get ready, it's that time of year again… NYC Bridal Market is next weekend! Are you gearing up for the tulle, beading, sequins & lace?! I don't know a better way to celebrate the beginning of fall!

We can't attend the show this year but we have been able to look at the 2015 wedding collections online, and we have noted some great trends -- the backless gown, beaded lace, and some serious detail work! Here are some lovely previews from some 2015 collections to get your Friday fashion fix!

Martina Liana Blush color, ruffles, beautiful beading. LOVE!

Galia Lahav Gorgeous strings of pearls, full lace, open back. Need I saw more?

Ersa Atelier OMG obsessed with the art deco beading!

Kenneth Pool The buttons down the back of this gown look stunning on the charmeuse fit & flare

Naeem Khan I must be a sucker for intricate beading design :)

Mt. Hope Farm Lobsterbake Wedding

If you're looking for fun, authentic, and downright New England, K & D's wedding day is where you'll find it. With a venue as beautiful as Mt. Hope Farm in Bristol, RI, there is no mistaking how perfect a traditional Rhode Island Lobsterbake fit the occasion!

K & D planned their day, down to every last detail, to create a fun, one-of-a-kind experience for their guests. It's not every day that you get to attend a lobster bake, and better yet, get to see the entire process up close!! Who knew that the best way to bake a lobster was over a bed of coals and seaweed!

Their outdoor tented wedding was picture perfect! Keeping the mood light, natural hues and soft, rich browns and tans turned this outdoor space into a gorgeous landscape for a wedding. I loved working with this couple from start to finish, with genuine smiles they were excited to make their wedding a relaxed event with good food, lots of good food, and did I mention some more good food?!? Take a look at just how special their day was!

All of their stationary took inspiration from nature to keep the wedding to feel light and airy!

K's wedding accessories were simple and fit the occasion perfectly :)

The best part about an outdoor ceremony at Mt. Hope Farm is the stung views overlooking the bay and expanding to the ocean!

I can't get over how much I LOVE these detail photos, this wedding looked so soft against the green lawns and the subdued gray blue of the ocean

place cards
These escort cards were simple creations but worked for the nature inspired wedding.

And get ready for the LOBSTERBAKE!! Probably one of the coolest things to see in person.

Covering the coals with seaweed to create an outdoor steamer.

How cute are these two for their first dance?! They set the tone with a little Frank Sinatra ;)

Bring on the seafood!!
